The Scrum Master guides multiple teams in the use and adaptation of Scrum for delivering “better software faster” at Vertafore. They may work as Scrum Master for one or more Scrum Teams and/or as Scrum Of Scrums Scrum Master for coordinating multiple Scrum Teams as part of a larger Scrum Product Team. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, software development lifecycle experience, and experience as a Scrum Master in an agile environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the team’s adoption of Scrum and practice of it
- Ensure Vertafore Scrum Framework is followed including required meetings and artifacts
- Use inspect and adapt with team to constantly improve performance and responsiveness
- Coordinate and facilitate Scrum meetings such as, daily standup, sprint planning, release planning, and sprint retrospectives
- Remove any obstacles blocking or slowing down the teams
- Identify and coordinate dependencies with external teams
- Provide visibility to team status and issues to senior management
- Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation
- Mentor team members on agile software development principles and practices
- Coordinate and schedule the execution of deliverables across multiple teams

Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience effectively using Scrum
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in project management, in a software development environment
- Deep understanding of Agile methodology
- Proven track record of building motivated, collaborative, and productive development teams
Education Requirements
- Certified Scrum Master or equivalent
