Dollars and Dates Are Killing Agile
by Chris Sterling, VP of Engineering - Agile Advantage [ http://www.agileadvantage.com ]

Agile teams speak in points and iterations, but project and business managers think in terms of dates and dollars. This conceptual and language barrier makes strategic business planning, funding, and project status reporting a significant challenge for Agile teams. Because of these barriers, many successful Agile/Scrum initiatives are discontinued or never expanded.
Learning Outcomes:
- Agile Portfolio Management concepts
- How Agile development teams can identify cost, schedule, scope and quality issues quicker to reduce project risk
- How to bridge the “Points vs. Dollars” language barrier to address the needs of strategic planners and reduce the overhead of “managing up” in Agile environments
