2006-10: Understanding Cultural Impacts for US/India

    Answer

    by Amandeep Narula, Tata Consulting

There are differences in working styles and habits around the world. With a bit of an understanding of the culture often times a lot of misunderstandings can be cleared up resulting in much improved productivity and harmony between multi-geography and multi-cultural teams.

Amandeep Narula has been working in the information technology industry for over 15 years and has held diverse roles in software development, sales, and account management. He has successfully started an IT services company and has run it for 4 years. He currently works for Tata Consultancy Services, the largest Asian outsourcing company and arguably the founder of the offshore model for delivering application services. In his current role, Amandeep manages TCS' relationship with Washington Mutual and is responsible for the P&L of the engagement.

    Enjoy,
    Earl
